About Us

The Jim and Mary Kearl Library is a proud member of Chinook Arch Regional Library System, a cooperative of 33 public libraries in Southwest Alberta. With your library membership, you have access to the collections and resources of all Chinook Arch member libraries.

The Jim and Mary Kearl Library stands out as the hub of the Cardston community. Over 1,200 individuals are library card holders.

Our collection is diverse. It includes over 26,000 printed books, 1,400 audiobooks, 1,000 music recordings, and more than 4,000 DVDs. The library's true value is realized through the staff, whose expertise and dedication provide users with excellent resources and services.

The Library operates under the Town of Cardston Library Board, whose responsibilities include approving library service policies, operating capital budgets and developing strategic planning documents for effective and efficient operations.
